when you turned your face towards me
my soul began to shiver
I knew that when our lips first touched
my life would change forever
when your sweet breath entangled mine
like a song without a sound
a perfect harmony of love
my world stopped spinning round
when I looked into your dancing eyes
and saw the light that shone
I knew that I’d keep holding on
till hope’s last drop had gone
because I always understood
you were far too good for me
but I had to try to live the dream
praying for eternity
if I could go back to that night
just before our lips first met
and quickly walk away from you
I’d have nothing to regret
but then I’d lose those memories
that I can’t bear to forget

and the tears and that regret
